Warranty
The bottom line of the BTR Fabrications frame warranty is this; If it’s our fault, we’ll make it right. We want to keep as many of our frames rolling as possible. We didn’t set out to make consumable bikes; in fact, durability has always been a key prioity for us. We’re also not here to take advantage of anyone, either. If you encounter a problem, you can rest assured that we’ll do everything we can set it right and get you back on the trails.
BTR Fabrications Limited Frame Warranty
If the worst happens, and something goes wrong with your frame, we’ll investigate the fault to find out what went wrong, and take action accordingly. We’ll need you to return the frame to us so that we can check it over fully; this return shipping is at your (the customer’s) expense. The cause of the fault is at BTR Fabrications’ sole discretion.
If the fault has been caused by improper materials, poor workmanship, or even inadequate design, we’ll then set about repairing or replacing your frame. Repair or replacement work is done at BTR Fabrications’ expense. It is at BTR Fabrications’ sole discretion whether the frame is repaired or replaced.
This limited warranty covers:
1. Every part of a BTR Fabrications frame; dropouts, tubes, bottle cage mounts, chain device mounts, integrated seat clamp, paint, decals, etc.
2. Ancillary frame parts; mech hanger, rear axle, frame bolts, head tube badge, etc.
BTR Fabrications will cover shiping for the repaired or replaced frame, up to a value of £50 (GBP). Further shipping costs, as well as any import duties and taxes, are the responsibility of the customer.
This limited warranty does not cover:
1. Wear and tear due to normal, reasonable use of the frame.
2. Failure due to corrosion, external or internal, resulting from negligence or improper maintenance, or age (approximately 5+ years).
3. Defects, failures, or malfunctions that result from abuse, misuse, alteration, modification, removal of the original paint for refurbishment, accident, neglect.
4. Defects, failures, or malfunctions that result from improper assembly, installation or maintenance.
5. Defects, failures, or malfunctions that result from other abnormal, excessive or improper conditions or use.
This warranty is available to the original purchaser of the BTR Fabrications frame only. Subsequent owners or users will be considered for our crash replacement policy, but cannot make a warranty claim.
While we do not place a time limit on our warranty, we must highlight the fact that steel frames do not have an indefinite lifespan, due to corrosion. For this reason, it is less likely for a warranty claim to be successful for an older frame since corrosion is more likely, even with proper care.
Any further claims for damages including, but not limited to, incidental or consequential damages are excluded from this warranty.
This warranty covers only BTR Fabrications frames. Any warranty claims relating to 3rd party components supplied by BTR Fabrications with a BTR Fabrications frame will be implemented by BTR Fabrications, in line with the 3rd party’s warranty.
N.B. BTR Fabrications ‘clearcoat’ or raw finish ordered after 1st December 2018 is not covered under this warranty. All other aspects of the frame will be covered as per the warranty terms.
BTR Fabrications Crash Replacement Policy
In the event that your BTR Fabrications frame sustains damage which is not covered by our warranty, BTR Fabrications will build a replacement frame of a suitable and comparable specification, at a reduced cost.
Price of the replacement frame will be calculated separately for each claim, and is indexed against the current manufacturing and retail costs. Normal pricing would be approximately 20% less than retail.
This offer is subject to the return of the original frame, at the owner’s expense.
If BTR Fabrications deem, at their sole discretion, that a different model will be more suitable for the rider’s needs, only this frame will be offered as a replacement under the crash replacement policy.
The owner will also be responsible for all shipping costs, duties and taxes associated with return shipping of the replacement frame.
This crash replacement policy covers only BTR Fabrications frames. Any claims relating to 3rd party components supplied by BTR Fabrications with a BTR Fabrications frame will be implemented by BTR Fabrications, in line with the 3rd party’s crash replacement policy (if available).
